About Us

M&M Movers was founded by Maura Martinek in 1972. An immigrant from Ireland, she settled on the North Shore as a young adult, and started a family. However, she never lost sight of her goal - to start her own business. She achieved that - starting one of the first woman-owned moving companies in the United States. Her hard work and dedication has made M&M Movers one of the most reputable moving companies in the area.

In 2020, after nearly 50 years in the business, Maura retired, passing on the business to her son, David. David has 25 years in the moving industry. The majority of his time was at M&M Movers., but he also gained valuable experience at both United and Clark and Reid while living on the East Coast. His focus is to maintain the high level of customer service Chicagoland has come to expect from M&M Movers.

M&M Movers understands that we are not just transporting things, but moving people's lives from the old, to the new. Whatever your move requires, our experienced crew knows that no two projects are alike and that each client has particular needs.
